Hello readers, hope you had a nice time reading the previous articles. If you have not read it click here Today’s article features a mock covering letter as promised in the last article. This example resume cover letter has been edited to suit this purpose. You can fill in your own words and sentences as the case may be. Don’t forget the normal processes of writing a formal letter.

Dear Sir/Ma,

I am writing in response to your advertisement in [publication] [dated] for [position]. I am very interested in the advertised post and believe that I have the right experience and personality for the job. I have a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a professional certificate in ACA.

I am used to dealing with [job experience] which gives me an edge and understanding of this position. I just left school and willing to take up this job because [reason]. Or I just left my former job because it wasn’t challenging anymore. This job will give me the opportunity to exhibit my abilities and enhance the company’s revenue or brand etc.

As to leisure activities, I play the piano and guitar and like singing, dancing and painting.
References can be obtained from the head teacher of my school, Mr Bola Sharp, and Ms Shawn Jibowu. Their addresses and telephone numbers are given in my CV, which accompanies this letter.
